Jock Itch Treatment In The U.K
Posted on April 22, 2016
Jock Itch treatment in the U.K can be found in the forms of many creams to apply to the affected areas. If the symptoms are at the stage where you’re feeling extremely sore then you need to take measures right now to tackle Jock Itch.
What is Jock Itch?
Jock Itch is a fungal infection around the genital area. It shares many other names such as: Crotch Itch, Crotch Rot & Jock Rot. It’s caused by a bacteria known by the Latin name of Tinea Cruris. This itching burning sensation between the scrotum and inner thighs can multiply fast if left unwashed or treated.
What Causes Jock Itch?
Jock Itch is caused by tight fitting clothing that traps heat and moisture which speeds up the build up of bacteria around the ball sack. It can be transferred from unwashed clothing or even Athletes Foot. Basically, areas that have dark, hot moist areas like your underwear are the perfect breeding environment for a fungal infection.
How Can I Get Rid Of Jock Itch?
You can get prescribed treatment from you local G.P and visit the pharmacy. If you would rather treat the problem yourself then you should consider using anti fungal soaps and tea tree oil. Here are some suggestions:
- Wash regular with a quality effective treatment. Try Anti Fungal soaps.
- Wear cotton Boxers and not synthetic briefs which harbour bacteria.
- Apply a top rated skin cream that is proven to work. Try these.

Last thing here, if symptoms do persist, please get yourself down to the doctor for a thorough examination.
This was a very informative read. I can say I’ve already tried the Grizzly Sport Cream that you’re suggesting and I was really happy with the results. I loved the article and thanks for the heads up about the tight clothing, I do have a few of those lying around the house.
Thanks Josip for joining this post today. Glad you’ve tried Grizzly Active Sports Cream and were stoked by the results. The thing to beware of are that tight synthetic garments don’t mop up moisture. This leaves your skin to fester in rank sweat and bacteria has a field day. Cycling shorts are a common cause of this. Best thing, wear good linen around your taters and wash ’em regular.
All the very best,
Pete.
Hi here. You have an interesting topic to these people who have this type of problem. I wonder how often people have this problem. I never heard about it.
When I read the article I thought that people are lacking hygiene skills.
Later on, I think if you write about this issue, maybe it Is a common thing in the U.K.
Anyway, I guess that you good job educating your customers and offering solutions how to escape from this disease or condition.
Happy writing. all the best.
Hey there Nemira.
It’s not so much that people lack hygiene skill but the fact that we all wear underwear, & we all sweat right? So everybody is prone to getting a heat rash especially in hot humid places. Bacteria loves to thrive out of sunlit places and that is, unfortunately in your knickers or a mans briefs.
The problem is world wide, just like athletes foot or a common cold and not just confined to the U.K. I wouldn’t cite Jock Itch as a disease, but a mere infection that can be treated with the right care.
Thanks again,
Take care now,
Pete.
I wanted to thank you for this site as I have had the condition and have gone to the pharmacy about it very quietly. I know that it is almost a badge of honor for some, but, correct me if I am wrong, it is a condition that should be avoided, no? I certainly did not enjoy it!
Thank you for spreading the word!
Ha Ha,
Hi there Rich.
Yeah, a badge of honour alright, Jock Itch may or may not be an accolade to some, but what we really want is to get rid, and fast.
It certainly is a condition that needs to be avoided, and not something you wouldn’t control and let get out of hand. Definitely it would be beneficial to not let jock itch to the point of a gross, festering mess around your scrotum.
I expect no one enjoys it, unless of course, they are looking for that coveted badge of honour!
Nice one,
All the very best.
Pete.
As a former high-school athlete that needed to wear neoprene undershorts for baseball games I can’t tell you how many times I had to deal with Jock itch growing up. It sucks big time.
I had not considered using an antifungal soap though. Seems so obvious now but I guess that would be a great way to get rid of it.
Very interesting read.
Sure thing Alec, wearing neoprene garments that are designed to protect your balls are going to pack in a lot of heat. It’s those Lycra ones too that cyclists wear that can also be the culprit of sweat clinging to the skin.
Yeah, I’m sure the Jock Itch was very unsavoury and something you eagerly wanted to banish from whence it came. Gently scrubbing down with a mild antifungal soap will of course help for those with the aforementioned problem.
Thanks again for joining this discussion Alec.
Take care now,
Pete.
Hi Pete, A very well written page about a problem that many people have and are afraid or embarrassed to take about. Your title is straight to the point and funny and and I bet easy to search for. I must ask my UK friends if they have the problem and send them over to your site for some laughter and relief.
One suggestion if I may. I think make your words into a darker colour as I think it will be a easier on the eyes. A lot of people with poor eye sight out there.
Cheers John
Hi John, Thanks for dropping in & Joining the discussion.
I try to make things a little light here because laughter really is the best medicine. Chef’s arse is a common thing but it’s also a slang term for skin chafing down in embarrassing areas. it’s a serious problem that I like to address with a dash of humour and hopefully, my readers may find some treatment in doing so.
Thanks for the tips on the font colour, Sorry if you’ve had to squint at the text. If I can fix it I will…
Thanks again John, all the very best.
Take care,
Pete.
